Christmas is just around the corner! So to celebrate we will be having a
stained glass Christmas ornament activity this coming Monday.  This will be
at our normal time and place: Watter's Center at 5:30.

If you have a glue gun please bring it!  We will need it for this craft.  We
will NOT be leading glass because of concerns with new and expectant
mommies.  This should be a lot of fun.

Also, our meal will be potluck "Favorite Christmas Dishes."  Remember these
cannot all be cookies :)  We need some of your favorite dishes you have for
your Christmas traditional Christmas meal.

Look forward to seeing you Monday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This week we are being blessed with a Thanksgiving meal provided for us!
Nothing to bring, except your appetites!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Child care will be provided immediately this night so that you can enjoy a quiet dinner with adult conversation.  Please ensure your children are fed prior to coming to Thrive On; snacks for the children will be provided during child care but dinner will not be served to the children.

See you at the Watters Center at 5:30!

Also, we will NOT have Thrive on 28 NOV 2011, the Monday following Thanksgiving.  This is a change from our previous plan, so please make note of this.

November 14, 2011

This week is Craft Night!  We'll have materials on hand to make holiday wreaths for Christmas.

It's also potluck week, and our theme is "Breakfast for Dinner"

Bring a delicious sunrise breakfast for our evening sunset. We'll also need a few ladies to bring some OJ and perhaps set up a coffee corner.

RSVP your attendance and food you intend to bring to daniel.j.phillips2@us.army.mil.

The following Monday night (Nov 21) we'll celebrate a special Thanksgiving meal together.

For our next Deployed Spouses Group,  we'll discuss the next tip on the list of 21 Tips for How to Thrive During Deployment.  This week's is Tip #8- "Ask for a Helping Hand".  Come join us for a chance to hang out and get to know other spouses who are going through a deployment too.

It's POTLUCK night - Italian style! So bring your favorite Italian dish to share! At our last couple of potlucks, we nearly ran out of delicious food.    Please bring a dish if you plan on attending.  As always, we'll need salads, desserts, and drinks as well.

We're getting very good attendance but not many are RSVPing.  Please RSVP
your attendance, number of children by age you're bringing and the dish/dessert/drinks you plan to bring to SPC Phillips @ daniel.j.phillips@conus.army.mil with number of children coming with you by age.

If you are new to our group, we meet at the Watters Center from 5:30-7:30.

We hope to see you Monday night as we continue to THRIVE,
not just survive, during this deployment!

** Next week on the 14th, we will be having a CRAFT NIGHT and making wreaths!

October 24, 2011

Our topic for the next Deployed Spouses Group will be part 2 of "Be Realistic"- tip #8 on our list of 21 Tips for how to thrive during a deployment.  We're taking two weeks on this topic because of its importance and relevance to the struggles of separation.

Dinner will be catered through the Marta Riquelune catering service.

Please RSVP to SPC Phillips @ daniel.j.phillips@conus.army.mil with number of children coming with you by age.

Thank you for serving your country by persevering through the daily grind and keeping things together while your hero is gone.  Hang tough and hope to see you Monday night!

** No meeting Halloween night! **
We decided as a group not to meet the following Monday on Halloween night. The vast majority of ladies present said they'll be busy with their trick or treaters.
